In The Spirit Of Christmas!

Christmas trees, cookies, candy cane, gingerbread man, great food, mistletoe, snow flakes, ornaments, fairy lights, gifts, carols, all these surely sounds Christmassy, but are these what Christmas is about?

This question popped into my mind when I watched Klaus, a Netflix animation movie. Spoiler Alert! It is about a postman who gets transferred to a cold town in the middle of nowhere where the citizens are full of hate, anguish and violence.
A must watch movie this Christmas!
It's a place where the kids don't go to school, the adults don't greet each other, and none of the businesses operate in a proper manner. So the real challenge for this postman was to send out 6,000 letters by the end of the year or else he'll be left on the streets, begging for a living.

He'd try many approaches for the towns folks to send out letters but he'll just get trashed by the end of the day. Soon, he'd learn that the towns folks were separated by 2 different groups and that's where the hatred begun, from generations ago and it just remained that way because the older generation poisoned the newer generation's minds.

Getting the kids to write a letter to Mr. Klaus was no easy feat.
On his quest of self-discovery and meeting a target of sending out 6,000 letters, the postman bumps into a lonely widower who used to make toys for his unborn children. As fate would have it, his wife passed away before they could even have one.

So the postman convinces the kids in the town to be in their best behaviors by saying Klaus would only give presents for the good kids and made each of the kids write a letter to Klaus so that he could meet his target. He then goes to the widower and convinces him to make more gifts as per the list and deliver it to the kids accordingly.

When this goes to the ears of the people who were leading the rage feud, they would try and break this team of Klaus and the postman so that they could go back to being bitter and angry. Finally, like in every feel good movie Klaus and the postman will be able to deliver the gifts and the town would be a happy place to live in.

To answer your question, yes, the postman would meet his target and offered a life of luxury which he would decline to reside in the said town and expand the 'Santa Klaus business' to other areas.
I'd personally rate this movie a heavy 9 out of 10 and its a must watch this Christmas.
The take away of this movie is very simple yet elegant: at the end of the day, when you only have kindness to give, it will come back to you a thousand folds plus the world will be a much, much better place to live in. In Mr. Klaus's words: "a true selfless act always sparks another".

Come to think about it, isn't that what Christmas is about? Well, if it isn't then it most definitely should be. So let's all learn to give without expectations in the spirit of Christmas. With that being said, I wish all of my readers a Merry Christmas and an even happier new year! :)

P/s: Do not miss the trailer of Klaus at the bottom.
